The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past Officially Announced – New Expansion Coming in 2027

CD PROJEKT RED has officially revealed Songs of the Past, a brand-new third expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The expansion is set to launch in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Players will once again step into the role of legendary monster slayer Geralt of Rivia for an entirely new adventure set in the dark fantasy world of The Witcher.

The expansion is being co-developed together with Fool’s Theory, a studio made up of industry veterans who previously worked on The Witcher 3. More details about “Songs of the Past” are expected to be revealed in late summer 2026.

Since its original release in 2015, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has sold more than 60 million copies worldwide and received over 250 Game of the Year awards alongside more than 1,000 industry awards.

The return of Geralt of Rivia is already shaping up to be one of the biggest RPG events of the coming years.
