Game of Thrones Movie “Aegon’s Conquest” Officially Announced

Huge news for Game of Thrones fans: the first-ever feature film in the franchise is officially titled “Game of Thrones: Aegon’s Conquest.”

The announcement was made during Warner Bros.’ CinemaCon presentation, with the film planned as part of their 2027+ lineup.

The story will follow Aegon I Targaryen, the original conqueror who united the Seven Kingdoms and forged the Iron Throne. Based on George R. R. Martin’s “Fire and Blood,” the film explores the rise of the Targaryen dynasty and their dragon-powered rule over Westeros.

The screenplay is written by Beau Willimon (House of Cards, Andor), signaling a high-quality production. Meanwhile, the Game of Thrones universe continues expanding with new seasons of House of the Dragon and additional spin-offs.
