A cinematic adaptation of the critically acclaimed game Elden Ring is officially in the works! A24, the award-winning studio behind Everything Everywhere All at Once, has announced the project with Alex Garland (known for Ex Machina and Annihilation) directing. The film will also feature George R. R. Martin, who co-developed the lore of the original game, as a producer.
Developed by FromSoftware and led by game director Hidetaka Miyazaki, Elden Ring is a dark open-world RPG that has captivated players with its deep lore, brutal difficulty, and expansive universe. Since its release in February 2022, the game has sold over 30 million copies worldwide and was named Game of the Year at the 2022 Game Awards.
While an official release date has not yet been announced, a premiere is likely no earlier than 2026. With Garland’s visionary storytelling and A24’s unique cinematic approach, the Elden Ring movie promises to be an unforgettable experience for both fans and moviegoers alike.
